Daily, Ex-Madam, Hails Marriage Equality

Lawds Cuomo

Hints of Mayoral Run

Kristin Davis, the ex Manhattan Madam, who petitioned her way onto the ballot to run as an Independent in last year’s Gubernatorial election and garnered nearly 30,000 votes running on a Libertarian platform including gay marriage, today, praised the leadership of Governor Andrew Cuomo for his historic achievement.

“Many in the gay marriage movement know that Andrew Cuomo opposed Gay Marriage when he ran for Governor in 2002 and switched to support it in the 2006 Attorney General’s primary. Now, he is the hero of the marriage equality movement. I commend him on his leadership on wining the votes of all but one senate democrat. “ said Davis

Davis ran on a platform of decriminalizing prostitution, legalizing and taxing marijuana and legalizing same sex marriage. Since the election, Davis has founded Hope House, a non-profit organization formed to combat sex trafficking.

Davis said earlier this year that she would run in the Democratic primary for Governor if former Governor Eliot Spitzer did. More recently, she has hinted at an Independent candidacy for Mayor to continue to give voters a Libertarian alternative to the major parties.
