EX-MADAM ISSUES DISTURBING REPORT ON SEX TRAFFICKING
Calls for Tougher New Yorks State Law
New York– Kristin Davis, the ex-madam jailed for supplying prostitutes to former Governor Eliot Spitzer who now heads a non-profit organization, We Stop Trafficking, which combats sex trafficking released the organization’s first annual report on sex trafficking in America. Davis said the report was "both shocking and disturbing". We Stop Trafficking is a project of HOPE HOUSE, a non-profit set up to help women escape from sex traffickers and conscription.
According to the We Stop Trafficking report released by Davis, there are 1.2 million children being trafficked every year with 150,000 to 300,000 being trafficked here in the United States. There are an estimated 300,000 youth in the United States at risk of being sexually exploited for commercial uses – most of them runaways or throw-aways.
